The founder with his mission and vision
I am Subhankar Bera, and my journey with StayGhar is rooted in a simple dream—to see rural India shine through the hospitality industry. StayGhar is a platform dedicated to transforming rural hospitality through technology. Our vision is simple yet powerful: to empower rural communities and showcase their authentic culture to the world.
I've seen how guests leave villages with incredible stories and experiences, but the locals often find it tough to attract more visitors. That disconnect got to me and pushed me to do something about it. For me, it's about giving rural folks the resources they need to link up with the wider world. Technology seemed like the perfect bridge, and that's how StayGhar came to life.
For me, the goal is to empower rural people by giving them tools to connect with the modern world. And technology became that tool. StayGhar was born out of this vision.
For us, it is not just an app; it is a mission. We want villagers to manage their homestays with confidence. We want them to see their culture and traditions celebrated globally.
A quote of Swami Vivekananda that touches me deeply is, “They alone live who live for others, the rest are more dead than alive.”
I believe true life is meaningful only when it uplifts others. StayGhar uplifts families by giving them dignity in their work. It uplifts communities through technology, enabling them to manage their homestays professionally.
When a rural host manages their first booking through StayGhar, it is more than just money. It is hope. It is the 1st step of empowerment. It is proof that technology, when simplified, can change lives.
I also remember Swami Vivekananda’s words: “Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life… This is the way to success.”
StayGhar is the one idea I have made my life. It is my way of giving back to society. It is my dream to see villages of India become global destinations of culture, warmth, and sustainability.
For me, StayGhar is not just a business—it is a purpose.
And my purpose is clear: to empower rural India through technology in hospitality.
